Cooking With Herbal Blends

But this is one that I've been eying for quite some time. And when I saw it sitting on the store shelf by itself with its price tag slashed three times, I knew it was time to take action.



Typically a slow cooker crock pot beef bourguignon will have just two heat settings, and a glass lid is used to retain the heat and moisture. An important tip to be sure to follow is this: Don't lift the lid while it is cooking the food! Letting the heat escape in this way will add twenty minutes to the cooking time! The lid is important as it prevents escape of hot water vapor which would, if permitted, lead to lowering the internal water level, loss of heat and drying out of the contents.

If you absolutely cannot go outside, try to find ways to be active inside. Find somewhere you can walk, or get an exercise bike or treadmill. Getting your body active and moving will still help.

Holiday beverages can be varied and fun. Hot apple cider and cranberry juice cocktails are always great choices. Peppermint hot chocolate and flavored coffees can be a rich and warm treat, too.

A few sips told me this is a rough-tasting wine. You know it's there and won't want to pair it with a poached white fish with herbs. I first tried this Shiraz with a slow-cooked beef stew and soft wheat kernels, accompanied by a commercial potato salad and a homemade tomato and cucumber salad. The wine was mouth filling and fairly long, but not subtle or complex. I tasted plums and black cherries. Not surprisingly this wine had no problem handling harissa, a very spicy Tunisian pepper sauce.

Combine the brown sugar, bourbon, and chili sauce in a bowl and mix well. Stir in the sausages. Spoon the sausage slow cooker beef bourguignon mixture into a baking dish. Bake at 350 for 1 hr. or until the sausages are cooked through. Cut into bite sized pieces. Serves 40.

A combination cooking method is needed so that I can be a guest at the party, and still serve perfectly cooked side dishes beef casserole red wine dinner. Steaming and shocking the beans will allow me to later warm them in butter with toasted almonds. This will take only seconds, and allow me to return to the meal with friends.
